Prescriptive to Descriptive Paradigm - Growth Beyond Talent

About the Session

No doubt everyone of us have witnessed pivotal influence at the workplace from colleagues and managers. We resonate with statements such as "they see something in me”, “they believed in me”,
“they held me accountable” and then others “who walked me the path”, “believed in setting the steps upfront to set me up for success”. All of them with the right and best intentions but the first ones who let me figure out the way, fail and learn, helped me create the best of myself rather than the later ones who unintentionally shut my creativity by prescribing the exact steps to be followed.

This Prescription Leadership to Description leadership is a continuum and requires a mind shift. A good leader needs to harness these skills by practice. You can relate to this paradigm shift with the well-known industry terms Multipliers - The Describers and Accidental Diminishers - The Prescribers. The trickier part is even the best of the leaders can have traits of accidental diminishers. Through this talk, Aashima aims to share her experience and examples that will help develop a conscious Paradigm Shift to turn your inner prescriber to a describer thereby further helping you produce multipliers within yourself and your teams.

This Paradigm shift is not restricted just to the leaders or managers, but helps nurture every developer helping them with five key areas—talent, culture, strategy, decision making, and execution hence
boosting the performance.
