Bill Scott

Bill got his start professionally by co-authoring and designing one of the very first games for the Apple Macintosh. It was a commercial success and it set a direction for his career. He wanted to create products out of the thin air of code that customers would love. Each successive journey in his career helped fulfill that mission. Bill created one of the earliest graphical mapping systems for wargaming used by NATO and the Naval War College. He designed and developed a Java & Javascript based Integrated Development Environment, helped craft complex airline management solutions as well as supply chain planning and same day logistics products.
As the internet started to take off, Bill shifted to web technologies and co-wrote one of the first Javascript AJAX libraries. This led to his move to join Yahoo and be a wide ranging technology evangelist both inside and outside of the company. During that phase Bill gave over 75 talks and helped shape a new set of products at Yahoo.
Next, Bill made the transformation into senior engineering leadership. He was fortunate to lead one of the key engineering organizations at Netflix during the pivot to streaming. At PayPal he led a number of organizations including: User Interface Engineering, Merchant Engineering, Consumer Engineering, Identity, Next Gen Commerce, and CTO of Venmo. Bill currently is the VPE of Transposit, a devops automation orchestration startup.
The mission hasn't changed. Bill is passionate about getting humans to create great products for other humans.
