Dr. Ravi Bala is the Director of Data Science & Analytics at U.S. Omni Tech, Walmart Global Tech. He leads a team of data scientists and analysts building customer behavioural and persona models to drive Walmart+ membership growth, Walmart’s flagship loyalty program. In his current role, he leads customer science for omni-channel customer growth and retention. Prior to Walmart, he served as VP of Data Science at Noodle.ai, building AI products for manufacturing and supply chain verticals.
Ravi Bala is passionate about building reusable data science assets, adopting software engineering principles and scalable distributed compute algorithms. He has filed seven international patents (three granted till date) on smart insights and alerting systems and published over 10+ peer-reviewed papers. He has a Ph. D. in Computational Engineering from Mississippi State University, USA and a B.Tech. (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India.
