Jouko Lampinen
Dean & Professor of Computational Science, Aalto University School of Science
Professor Jouko Lampinen has served as the dean of the School of Science since 2016. He is a professor of computational science at the department on Computer Science, School of Science. Before the current appointment he has served in Aalto as the vice dean of the School of Science, the head of the Department of Computer Science, and the head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Computational Science, as well as the Director of the Aalto M.Sc. programme in life science technologies.
He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and has supervised or cosupervised over 20 Ph.D. theses. His current research interests include probabilistic modeling, neural computing and image and data analysis, particularly in systemic neuroscience and digital health.
Professor Lampinen has served in various positions in scientific associations, including the board of the Brain Research Society of Finland. He is an invited member of the Finnish Academy of Technology.
