Bangalore, April 17, 2012: Saltmarch Media today kicked off the fifth edition of the country's biggest, independent, polyglot, IT developer focused event 'The Great Indian Developer Summit' at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The summit recognised as the single most inspirational and informative conference for the Indian IT developer community to be held from April 17- 20, 2012, brings together world's leading software giants and the most intelligent minds on the same platform in one of the largest developer markets in the world. Some of the luminaries who addressed the GIDS .NET conference on the inaugural day of GIDS 2012 included Venkat Subramaniam, Founder of Agile Developer, Inc., speaking on “Evolution of C#-A departure from its roots,” Sander Hoogendoorn, global agile thought leader at Capgemini speaking on “How Frameworks Can Kill Your Projects & Patterns To Prevent Getting Killed”, Mike Benkovich, MSDN, Microsoft who spoke on “Mobile Games in the Cloud-Build Rock Paper Scissors on Windows Phone,” amongst others.
Delivering the first keynote address on the opening day GIDS 2012 on Windows Reimagined, Mr. Harish Vaidyanathan, Head, Evangelism Efforts for Microsoft India with Mr. Rajasekharan Vengalil, Developer Evangelist at Microsoft Corporation India, shared, “Building the next release of Microsoft Windows is an industry-wide effort Microsfot approaches with a strong sense of responsibilty and humility. The day also saw some enlightening discussions by Mike Benkovich, who delivers technical presentations around the latest technologies for MSDn at Microsoft. Mike Benkovich presenting his paper on “Mobile Games in the Cloud-Build Rock Paper Scissors on Windows Phone, demonstrated how Windows Azure enables and extends the reach of mobile apps with the example of the classic Rock-Paper-Scissors game played on the phone against a service hosted in the cloud. He showcased the use of Access Control Services to use identiy from Google, Yahoo and Live ID to authenticate the user, then implement a SQL Azure database to store game history.
Few of the prominent speakers at the 4-day summit include Nelson Mattos (VP of Engineering, EMEA, Google), Gerard Rego (Head of Ecosystem and Developer Experience, Nokia), Dr. Venkat Subramaniam (Founder of Agile Developer Inc), Bruno Georges (Head, Enterprise Application Platforms Engineering Group, Red Hat Inc.).
