Summit will be held between May 19-23, 2008 at the Indian Institute of Science

Great Indian Developer Awards 2008
The Great Indian Developer Awards is
the first-of-its-kind awards in India to recognize the trailblazing
individuals, technologies, and organizations that are contributing to the
evangelism, productivity and innovation excellence of the Indian developer
ecosystem. The awards will highlight product excellence, research and
innovation, corporate achievements, the strongest individual efforts, and the
most compelling community efforts among the entire IT developer fraternity in
India. The judging process that is already underway will culminate at an
exclusive awards night at the Great Indian Developer Summit, May 19-23 2008
with a high stature panel felicitating the awardees. This years awards will be
given away across 15 categories including open individual and product
categories.
In Stage I, from January 25 to March 14,
nominations were accepted from across 15 open individual and product
categories. At the end of Stage 1, a maximum of 10 finalists were short listed
in each of the 12 product par excellence categories. From a maximum of 10
finalists in each category, up to 6 products were short listed based on the
Stage I nomination results, and up to 4 products based on parameters such as
market leadership, functionality, universality of appeal, and simplicity. This
process was to ensure uniform representation across each category. Voting on
the short listed finalists is now open in Stage 2, until May 07; everyone is
invited to cast their votes for their favorites in the shortlist from here http://developersummit.com/awards.html.
The rigorous selection process for the awards doesnt end there, however. Once
voting closes on May 07, the votes will be counted and a final list of three nominees
from each category will be made available to the high stature awards jury. The
awards jury will cast their vote on the finalist, thus arriving on a winner for
each of the 15 categories. The winners will be announced on the 23rd
of May at the Great Indian Developer Awards Nite, Palace Grounds, Bangalore.
The awards jury is comprised of distinguished
executives, seasoned industry professionals, and academia whose expertise spans
the entire information technology gamut. This years jury include the IT
